Lack of Organization= loss of time and money

Check out Biblical Womanhood for more great tips!

I suffer from chronic disorganization. I try, I really do, but I can't seem to keep it all together. I misplace everything. Hairbrushes, keys, $60 rebates(Joe still brings this one up), and most recently, a coupon for Crest Pro Health I received in the mail. I know it was for a good amount off(at least $1.50 if not more) and yesterday while I was at Walmart, there was a whole display of the big bottles with the smaller bottle attached to them for only $4. And now, I can't find my coupon. It's not in my coupon organizer(makes me chuckle because my desk looks like the Smart Source and Red Plum printers blew up on my desk) and I'm pretty sure Baby Girl didn't eat it. I spent the last hour looking for it. This was an hour I could have used to do some laundry, print out directions for my trip tomorrow, mopped a couple floors, anything but tear apart the house in search of the elusive coupon. Now I have a big mess and still no coupon. AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don't know whether to go ahead and buy the stuff or wait. ~sigh~

My tip, in order to stay on the frugal track, be organized!

I sure hope you find that Crest coupon before it expires, but take heart--there will always be more coupons!
I don't clip mine. I keep them in plastic page protectors in a 3-ring binder. Each protector holds one circular. I also keep a log of my coupons on my computer, divided by source (Smart Source or Redplum, as you know), date and category (very broad--just Food, Household and Health and Beauty). It sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't once you get it going. After all, you won't use every coupon in every circular. But keeping the circulars intact until I actually need a coupon is much easier to me than clipping, clipping, clipping and sorting, sorting, sorting!
BTW, just a thought...did you by any chance put the coupon back in the original envelope? Maybe you should be looking for that and not the coupon itself? One time, I lost a $400 refund check and almost had a nervous breakdown as I tore my house apart. I just KNEW it had to be in such-and-such a place, but it wasn't! Finally, I took a deep breath and looked again. Sure enough, it WAS in the original envelope. But I'd put it back in turned around...so all I saw through the window was white! Trust me and go back to the place you originally thought it was. I bet it's very, very close by!

It happens to all of us. well, at least me.
I'm thinking that I'm going to stop clipping and just file by date. It sounds a lot easier.
