Itch to Pitch-Week 1

I decided to join The Happy Housewife's Itch to Pitch challenge because although I've been doing good on most stuff, some of the little piles have taken over. I figured if I can tackle one a week, everything will be on it's way to decluttered by the time the Things start back to school in the fall.

Before

This week I decided to tackle to top of the refrigerator. While it's not a whole room like many did, it is a source of craziness that needed worked on. (not to mention I tend to get hit in the head daily by stuff falling off when I get into the freezer). It was a mess, I found everything from a Tupperware bowl to a roll of paper towels(I haven't bought any in 3 months!) to EMPTY snack boxes! I counted 8 empty boxes. AHHH! Oatmeal, snack cakes, cereal, and granola bar boxes littered the top. I took all the boxes, and broke them down for reuse/recycling(the Star Crunch box is perfect for holding a B-day gift for Thing's 2 upcoming 10th) Everything else, I sat on the stove. After everything was off, I gave it a quick bleachy, soapy wash. An unopened box of cereal and oatmeal went downstairs to the stockpile, the handful of stuff that was just single in boxes(another 4 boxes!) just got placed up there in a pile for easy access. Joseph discovered the Doritos and promptly ate them :)

After

My little chaos only took about 15 minutes to clean, and definitely made me happier it was done! Next week, I'm attacking the shelf above my cabinets!
