Menu plan Monday

Wow, Saturday is Christmas. Where did my year go? Out the window, obviously! My plan for the last of December is easy peasy. The crew will be home and possibly eating me out of it! Christmas dinner is turkey with easy stuff like macaroni salad, potato salad, and deviled eggs. I'm hoping the 3 Amigos will head to my mil's for a few days so these dinners will possibly get carried over(cause I'm not cooking with just 2 of us)

Here's the plan:

Breakfasts:
Cereal
Oatmeal
Eggs
all served with fruit

Lunches
, find your own

Dinners:
Tacos
Nachos with chicken, tomatoes, and olives
Spaghetti with salad and bread
Potato soup with homemade rolls
Meat loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans
Cheeseburgers, fries
Parmesan chicken, pasta, salad
Country fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn
grilled cheeses, soup
pork chops, stuffing, carrots
Tuna casserole, green beans
Fried chicken, corn on the cob, broccoli

Super Savings Saturday

This weeks shopping trip was an exercise in patience. Walmart was very crowded and Dillons overcharged me. By $8, grr. It all got straightened out but it sure made harried as tried to finish all my errands in order to get home before Baby Girl.

Here's what I found

Walmart
1 box of shake and bake $1.72-$0.50/1=$1.22
2 Wacky Mac shapes $1.54 each- 2 $0.50/1=$1.04 each
2 Planter's Nuts $4.88 each-$1/2=$4.38 each
Lipton Instant Tea(the large canister) $4.98-$0.50/1=$4.48
Folger's instant packets(36) $7.78-$1/1=$6.78
1 Sara Lee Cheesecake $3.48-$0.75/1=$2.73
5 Maxwell House International Delight coffees $2.78- 5 $1/1= $1.78 each
1 Turkey sub lunchable $2.87-$1/1=$1.87
1 Dawn dish soap $0.97-$0.25=$0.72
1 Gain dish soap $0.97-$0.50= $0.47
5 Star brand vinegars $1.98- $2.07 each- 5 Free Star item coupons= All free!(we should have a nice variety of "fancy" vinegars for awhile)

Dillons
AFTER we got everything sort of out, here's what I got
2 Wolf Brand chilis $0.75 each- $1/2=$0.50/2
1 Banquet frozen pie $0.89- $0.70/1=$0.19
1 Duracell battery 4 pack $1.98- $1.50/1=$0.48
1 Juicy Juice sparkling juice $2.59- $1/1=$1.59
1 Tennessee Pride sausaage $2.99- $1/1=$1.99

I bought a few more things, including bags of apples and oranges, coke, and marked down hamburger. My total came out kind of high so I took a quick look at my receipt and found out I didn't get the $5 off for the Mega Event items and I was double charged for the Juicy Juice, ugh. They fixed it up at customer service and then I was on my way!

Booking It

I didn't read much this month. Not sure why, I know I have to really be "in the mood" to plow through a bunch of books! Here's my sad list that I read in November:

Insatiable
Fahrenheit 451
20 Boy Summer

Yes, 3 lonely books. The good news is I have a bunch I have to get read by the end of December!

Super Savings Saturday

Coupon wise, I haven't been saving much unless I hit up Dillons for a sale. This week was one of those weeks. I did find some deals elsewhere:

Sears
We went out to find Thing 2 some pants and found a couple more things
Boy cargo pants $10.98
Insulated gloves(the Things bike to school so he needs these) $7, marked down from $14
2 Tshirts priced $6.99 and $8.99 but were supposed to be 30% off but rang up $1.39 each!(these are for christmas)

Free Store
The church across the road holds a free store a couple times a year to help out the neighborhood.
For each kid, you can get 1 new toy, which I had planned on getting all for Baby Girl, since they had several things she liked, but Thing 2 threw a FIT(I was so mad at him!) so I got this:
1 new Stick Horse for Baby Girl
1 new slinky for Thing 2
1 manicure set for Thing 1
plus I found
4 shirts in good condition for Baby Girl, 2 pants and 1 shirt for Thing 2, 1 new copy of John Grisham's The Chamber, and Thing 1 found her 1 pair of jeans, a shirt, a sweater, gloves, a Christmas Wreath, and Christmas candleholder
